On May 19th, Microsoft Bulgaria celebrated their tenth anniversary of presence on the Bulgarian market. The company invited journalists for a “day of the open doors” to meet their entire staff.

The chief executive officer of the software giant – Steve Balmer – sent a special greeting for the anniversary. “Our success in business with Bulgaria exceeded all our initial expectations and hopes. I congratulate all employees of the Bulgarian branch for their hard work throughout the years. It’s an honour for us to work in Bulgaria and we will continue our support in the future”, stated Balmer.

In 1999, Microsoft open doors in Bulgaria with a team of only 5 people and 7 certified partners. Since then, the corporation opened a number of centers for education, began fruitful partnerships with other companies and national institutions, established the Bulgarian branch of the International organization of certified Microsoft partners, supported several educational initiatives, etc. The team of the local office grew ten times, and their partners are now over 800.
