100 000 new working places this year
100 000 new working places will be established in Bulgaria this year. This was stated by the minister of labour and social politics Emilia Maslarova at a meeting of party supporters and citizens of Smolian.
Over a thousand people attended the meeting. Other official guests aside from Maslarova included the mayor of the municipality of Smolian Dora Yankova, the socialist deputee dr. Todor Kumchev, the local socialist party representatives. The vice minister of labour and social politics dr. Dimitar Sotirov, the chief executive of the Agency for social support Gergana Drianska and the chief executive of the Agency of labour Sotir Ushev also attended the meeting. Minister Emilia Maslarova explained that the new working places will be the result of the EU financed new projects.
She noted that the government, headed by Sergey Stanishev, kept their promise by opening 359 000 working places between 2005 and 2009. In 2009, a total of 3 300 000 people were employed. According to Maslarova, more and more emmigrant Bulgarians are returning to their homeland because of the newly opened working places.
