4.3 million foreigners came to Bulgaria for 8 months
The statistics show that in the period of January – August 2008 more than 4.3 million foreign tourists have visited Bulgaria, which is a 15% increase, compared to the same period of 2007. The data was announced on Monday by the head of the country’s State Tourism Agency Aneliya Krushkova during the presentation of the first regional organization for the management of a tourist region dedicated to the Sofia tourist region. Also, the foreigners spent over 1.5 billion Euro – an increase with 12.1% from the 2007 levels.
At the same time, nearly 4 mollion Bulgarians travelled abroad. They have spent about 911.1 million Euro – 25% more than last year.
