“Ataka” Nationalists Compile List of Most Corrupt Bulgarian Politicians

Bulgaria’s nationalist “Ataka” party together with the right wing “Order, Law, Justice” party are starting to compile a list of the country’s 100 most corrupt politicians.

The news was announced Friday by the leaders of the two parties, Volen Siderov and Yane Yanev, who said the final report with the corruption rankings was going to be submitted to the European Commission.

The leaders also pointed out that the first three spots would be occupied by the former tsar and former PM Simeon Saxe-Coburg, the chair of the ethnic-Turkish Movement for Rights and Freedoms Ahmed Dogan, and the acting President Georgi Parvanov.

The first ten spots will also be filled by the former Interior Minister Rumen Petkov, the former Finance Minister Milen Velchev, the MP from the Movement for Rights and Freedoms Yordan Tsonev, the acting Finance Minister Plamen Oresharski, the Emergency Situations Minister Emel Etem, the Regional Development Minister Asen Gagauzov, and the former Agriculture Minister Nihat Kabil.

Siderov and Yanev also asked other similar-minded political parties to join them in the compilation of their list of the most corrupt politicians.
