Albena offers alternatives during the crisis

In the heat of the summer tourist season Margita Petkova, marketing and sales director of “Albena” predicts a 15% decrease of the tourist flow in the complex. She presented her estimates to twelve business ladies in the new five stars hotel in the seaside resort is called “Flamingo Grand”. M. Petkova also shared that despite the serious decrease, the Bulgarian market overall is still growing with 45% just in July.

“This is a notable increase. Due to the changes in our prices and the various discount offers aimed especially at Bulgarian tourists, over 5000 Bulgarian families spend their holiday in the resort. Including them, the increase of native tourists since the beginning of the year is about 20%. If this trend continues in August, we’ll manage to make up for the other decrease. This also reassures us of the position of the Bulgarian tourist as a good mass client.

We’ve always cared for the native tourists as clients – they form 10% of the overall number of tourists, and their reaction to this year’s offers is good. I can’t deny however, that the decrease among the various markets is noticeable. We expected a 20% decrease from the Scandinavian countries and France, but unfortunately it’s 25%. The Bulgarian and Romanian markets react to the offers in the last minute, because they don’t depend on flights and long distance travel.”
