Bulgaria, the poorest nation in the European Union, risks falling under the economical and political influence of Russia, if Brussels doesn’t communicate with Sofia more effectively, announced the “Financial Times”.

A report of the newspaper warned that the Bulgarian government should take measures against the corruption among the higher ranking authorities and that they should be removed from their posts without waiting for the end of the long court procedures.

The international consulting council created by the previous government of Bulgaria was supposed to give advice on how to adapt Bulgaria to the EU better, how to improve the public opinion on the government, etc.
