The Bulgarian Olympic Committee (BOC) awarded the Bulgarian medallists from the Olympic Games in Beijing on a special ceremony in Grand Hotel Sofia. The festivity was lead by the famous TV showman Niki Kanchev. The Chairman of BOC Stefka Kostadinova addressed the presenting journalists, sportsmen, leaders of sport federations and guests with a welcoming speech. She thanked the successful sportsmen from the Olympics and wished them even greater success at the next Olympic Games in London 2012.

The general sponsor of BOC – First Investment Bank, gave away premiums of total cost of 64 000 leva. The Bulgarian Olympic champion in rowing Rumyana Neykova received 20 000 leva, and the Silver medallists Stanka Zlateva (wrestling) and Stela Eneva (discus at the Paralympics) received 10 000 leva each. Our bronze medallists Yavor Yanakiev (wrestling), Kiril Terziev (wrestling), Radoslav Velikov (wrestling) and Daniela Tororova (javelin at the Paralympics) were awarded with 6 000 leva each.
