The timers of several traffic lights in the center of Sofia have been disabled because of the current “green wave” on the boulevards of the capital. The goal of the “green wave” is to ensure that a car that travels at 50 kmph can pass from the far end of a boulevard to the other without stopping at traffic lights.

To rework the system to a better state, all timers have to be synchronized, which will take time – as it affects the timers of nearby roads as well, explained from the municipality of Sofia.
