The biggest pop star in Bulgarian history – Lili Ivanova Petrova – had a birthday yesterday. She was born on April 24th 1939 in the city Kubrat.

The Bulgarian pop singer graduated from the School for nurses in Varna in 1959, and temporarily worked in the hospital in her home city, Kubrat. Later on, she begins solo performances (until 1961), and after that she is added to the programs of the Concert department in Sofia.

Her first tour abroad is in Romania with M. Kioseva and Emil Dimitrov, in 1962. After the resounding success of her second tour in Bucharest (1963), she records her first vinyl with the Romanian vinyl company “Electrecord”.
