This was announced to the newspaper “Monitor” by the executive of the project control group “Belene” and boss of NAPI – Ivan Atanasov.

According to Atanasov, as late as February 2009, a new project team – now including the German industry giant – will be formed for the construction of the atomic power plant “Belene”.

RWE was chosen for a strategic investor in the construction of the second atomic plant in the beginning of October. They competed with the Belgian “Electrabell” for 49% share of “Belene”. The German company was preferred for their offer to invest 1,275 billion euro personal funds in the new company.
