The “wild card” participant Grigov Dimitrov was the great surprise of the first round of the super tennis tournament in Rotterdam with a prize of 1,445 million euro. He won over the 23rd in the world rankings Tomas Berdich.

The 17-year old dealt with the Czech tennis player in three sets with 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 and may now face the international в„–1 player Raphael Nadal. The Bulgarian teenager defeated the 195 cm. tall Berdich, a 4 times winner of the Men tennis association, after a battle that went on for 2 hours and 7 minutes.

Classifying for the second round, Dimitrov won 45 points for the international rankings and 14 550 euro. His greatest success however, might be the opportunity to face the first racket of the world – the Spanish Rafa Nadal.
