Sofia will be the host of the international chess super tournament “M-Tel Masters”.

The tournament will take place between May 12th – 23rd. Games between the six chess masters will take place inside a special glass pavilion, which will be constructed on the square in front of the National theatre “Ivan Vazov”. The general sponsor of “M-Tel Masters” will be the biggest mobile operator in Bulgaria – “Mobiltel”. The award is 300 000 euro.

This year, the tournament will have an anniversary. The 19th world champion and current leader of the international rankings Veselin Topalov from Bulgaria will be among the participants. So will be the best young chess master in recent years, Magnus Karlsen (в„– 3 in the world) from Norway.
