The President of the European Commission JosГ© Manuel Barroso and the Commissioner for the Economic and Monetary Affairs Joachim Almunia concluded that Bulgaria is headed in the right direction and is taking the needed, adequate measures in the conditions of a worldwide economical and financial crisis.

This was stated by the prime minister of Bulgaria Sergey Stanishev in his speech to journalists, in which he informed on the results of his working visit in Brussels and his talks with the President of the European Commission JosГ© Manuel Barroso and the Commissioner for the Economic and Monetary Affairs Joachim Almunia.

“We are in the middle of an unprecedented ecnomical and financial crisis that influences the entire world”, added the prime minister.

“The governments of European countries, including Bulgaria, are working actively and in co-ordination to minimize and overcome the results of the crisis”, concluded he.
