The church with it’s own flag and coat of arms
The third session of the Sixth church council decided that the Bulgarian Orthodox church (BOC) should have it’s own flag and coat of arms.
The grand bishop Sionii, rector of the seminary “St. Ioan Rilski” in Sofia, presented his proposal to the eparchy in Sofia, with an exact description of the flag: three golden domes on a green font, and three important years for the Bulgarian church written underneath – 927, 1235 and 1953.
This proposal was accepted by the participants of the council. The final design of the coat of arms is not yet defined. The ideas for the design should be completed over the next few days.
