The municipality of Rousse finances the repair of a Romanian monastery
Renovations are taking place in the Komana monastery, built in 1462 by Vlad Tepes, more popular with the name Dracula. This monastery is also the resting place of the legendary voivode.
The renovations are the finishing stages of a co-operative project under the FAR program – “Better access to important ecological and historical sites in the territory of the Rousse-Giurgiu region and development of a common tourism politics”. In a similar fashion, the tourist zones around the monastery “St. Dimitar Basarabovski” in Bulgaria and the monastery in Komana, Romania were also renovated.
