“Today, more than ever, we need a new security strategy”, emphasized in the beginning of his lecture on “National security facing new challenges” the Bulgarian president Georgi Parvanov.

The president also noted, that the safety conditions have changed worldwide, and thus Bulgaria has to rework the formula, goals and politics on national security. He added that some of the measures that Bulgaria has already taken are the creation of DANS, changes in the Ministry of internal affairs, but they slow down the coordination of departments.

Parvanov announced that he intends to create a center for development of the administration base of the presidency, using experts and scientists in the project.

“The goal is to offer citizens a strategy for national security as soon as possible”, said Parvanov.
