The new leader: SDS will be the foundation of a future democratic government

Martin Dimitrov is the official new leader of the Union of democratic powers (SDS).

This was made clear on a press conference that took place on December 22nd in the SDS headquarters on “Rakovska” 134 str.

The ballot in the internal-party elections was decisive for Dimitrov’s success over his opponent Rumen Hristov. He gathered 1600 votes more than his opponent. 7581 members of the party gave their votes; 4581 gave their vote for Martin Dimitrov, while 2977 – for Rumen Hristov.

“From now on, I will regard each member of SDS as if he voted for me. I will not make divisions within the party. It is important for SDS to consolidate and I will work for a powerful Union of democratic powers”, said the newly-elected leader.
