Famous skiers from the past honored the official opening of the 2008/2009 season of the winter resort Bansko. The ex-champion from Liechtenstein – Hanni Wenzel was the first person to try the ski track “Alberto Tomba”.

She was follwoed by her brother Andreas Wenzel, the greatest Italian skier of all times Gustav ThГ¶ni and Mark Jirardelli – five times winner of the crystal globe and a frequent guest of Bansko.

Aside from Mark, all other guests are first-time visitors of Bulgaria. They expressed their admiration for the nature and the excellent ski tracks. The women ski World Cup races will take place on those very same tracks.
