The Bulgarian speed skating Olympian champion Evgenia Radanova was pronounced Sports person for the month of January of the press club “Bulgaria” inquiry.

Radanova receives this prize for the eighth time. The best Bulgarian speed skater was pronounced Sports person of the month for the first time in January 1999, when she won an Olympian gold medal. Evgenia Radanova received 16 votes from 27 sport editors for her silver medal at the 500 m. race at the European championship in Torino.

The freestyle wrestler Stanka Zlateva remained second in the competition with six votes, and the athlete Momchil Karailiev – third with four votes. “I am happy that once again, my accomplishments have been critically acclaimed.”
