The ski legend Marc Girardelli gave the last Crystal globe he won in his career to Bansko as a gift, wrote the newspaper Standard. The gesture was made live during the sports event, aired on national television.

The cup, won by Girardelli in the 1992/93 season, was – according to him – the cup he won with the most effort. He gives it to Bansko, hoping it would inspire the Bulgarian skiers.

The cup will be displayed at a prominent place in the foyer of the hotel “Kempinski Grand Arena Bansko”. Marc Girardelli actively advertises the ski resort Bansko all around the world, and a consultant to the national ski team.
