Martin Dimitrov and Rumen Hristov to compete for the position of SDS leader

Martin Dimitrov and Rumen Hristov go to the ballot for chairman of the democratic party SDS. Vladimir Kisyov, chairman of the National commission for internal elections in the democratic party, announced that the final results show a difference of 230 votes between the second and the third candidate – Rumen Hristov and Ivan Sotirov, respectively.

The activity of the internal elections in SDS reached 75.33 %. The Burgas region showed most activity – nearly 92%. The region of Pazardzhik showed the least – little over 50%. The members of SDS that voted were 7459 out of a total 9820 people with voting rights.

According to the data of the voting commission, Martin Dimitrov got the most votes of the South-eastern region and the city of Plovdiv. Sofia gave the most support to Ivan Sotirov. Most of the SDS members in Northern Bulgaria voted for Rumen Hristov. The ballot between Dimitrov and Hristov will take place next Sunday.
