The press center of the Ministry of transport announced that the minister of transport Petar Mutafchiev and the mayor of Sofia Boiko Borisov personally oversaw the beginning of the construction of the subway tunnel between “Patriarch Evtimii” blvd., The National palace of culture and “Cherni vrah” blvd.

The event took place at 12:30. They checked the construction site near the hotel “Hemus” – the crossroad at “Cherni vrah” blvd. and “Arsenalski” blvd., where begins the construction of the first shaft of the new subway tunnel. The construction involves tunnels with a length of 2,6 km. with three subway stations.

The company chosen to take care of the construction – “Metro Trace” – signed a contract worth 141 960 000 leva with “Metropoliten” EAD for the completion of the tunnel by the end of 2012.
