The relations between Bulgaria and the US reached a level of strategic partnership. This was announced by the prime minister of Bulgaria Sergei Stanishev during a briefing after his return from the EU-USA high level meeting in Prague.

The prime minister revealed, that he had invited the president of the United States in Bulgaria.

We are looking very positively at the G-20 decisions. For the first time, we all have a common viewpoint and a systematic plan to counteract the crisis, commented Stanishev.

A positive part of the measures in the plan is the support of the anti-crisis functions of the international financial institutions. The prime minister gave as an example the increase of the capacity of the funds of the International currency board. Issues of international trade were also discussed for the first time at the forum.
