111 new cases of AIDS-infected people were registered in Bulgaria in 2008. On the press conference in Blagoevgrad for December 1st – Worldwide day of struggle against AIDS – was announced that to this day, the number of AIDS positive people in Bulgaria is 926.

The head of the “Society healthcare” department in Blagoevgrad doctor Elena Orozova announced, that no children in Bulgaria were born from AIDS positive mothers in 2008.
