The grand prize of the upcoming track and field athletics tournament in Kavarna will be 35 000 dollars, announced the president of the Bulgarian athletics federation (BFLA) Dobromir Karamarinov and the mayor of Kavarna – Tsonko Tsonev during a press conference in the press club “Bulgaria”.

25 000 dollars for the grand prize will be provided by the municipality of Kavarna with a mayor Tsonko Tsonev.

The president of the athletics federation – Dobromir Karamarinov insisted on the purity of the competition and confirmed that there are no business relations between BFLA and Tsonev.

The Bulgarian competitors Stanislav Lambev and Milka Mikhailova will represent Bulgaria at the marathon. Lambev won the marathon in Sofia last year, and in 2007 finished first in the marathon in Skopje, competing against over 200 athletes.
