“As a citizen, I can see that BSP followed the example of GERB and forgot the matter of re-opening the 3rd and 4th blocks of the Nuclear power plant “Kozloduy”. What I know about the eventual compensations is that Sergei Stanishev demanded some money, but we’re not sure if they will be given”. Those were the words of the member of the economics council of NDSV Vladimir Karolev in front of the “Nova TV”.

“My opinion is that there will be additional compensations for the closed blocks, but I’m unsure of their size. I’m sure, however, that we will not be allowed to open these blocks again,” added he. “Talks of their re-opening are pure populism.

Closing 3rd and 4th blocks of the Bulgarian Nuclear power plant is a political decision, which has been taken long ago – in 1999, as a part of the contract that Bulgaria signed”, said Karolev. Many parties are trying to add to their electorate by talking about this “re-opening” – not only BSP and GERB, but also the movement “Napred” and “Ataka”.
